Aloha 2009
Can we start prepping & getting details for AKA 2009 yet??? We’ve got 6 hours (Hawaiian time) to go! I’m still torn between riding a bike, getting a T-Rex or renting something fun for the week out in Vegas like a Bentley Drophead and cruising in style.
Well, hopefully everyones had a great 2008 and will make 2009 even better! Keep the rubber side down in ‘09 and have a blast…
No commentsKauai Comments
Well, I’ve turned the comments off. With 500 spams a day, all those emails were getting rather annoying. So if you want to comment, register and it’ll let me know and you’ll be good to post.
Ive also been in Kauai since Saturday and will be here until next Saturday. It’s been around 75F all week with bits of rain here and there. Can’t complain with the lows only getting down to 69F or so. Pics and more coming next week when I get back ![]()
Holidaze
Well, finally had my first rally flashback! Was driving up the 5 from LA to SF. Out in the middle of nowhere. Been driving straight for some 3 hours and I was waiting for a pack of Beemers, a blue turbo Z and a GTR to come flying by…
Good times, good times! As great as it is doing it on a bike, there’s something else about doing it in a car. CBs in hand, copilot with the nacho cheese & a fully loaded nerf gun. Maybe I’ll jUst rent a car for the run.
No commentsMerceds McLaren SLR
“Mercedes-Benz will officially unveil what will surely be one of the most attention-grabbing cars in Cobo Hall, the 2009 McLaren SLR Stirling Moss. The boldly styled Merc will be the last vehicle built under the partnership with McLaren, and even at a cost of €750,000 Mercedes should have no trouble finding buyers for the 75-car allotment. Each will feature full carbon fiber bodywork wrapped over the standard version, a 650-hp supercharged 5.5-liter V8 and the five-speed automatic transplanted from the SLR 722. Despite lacking any sort of roof or proper windscreen, the Stirling Moss can still achieve a top speed of 217 mph and can reach 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.”

Red Bull Drifting on SPEEDtv
I guess SPEEDtv is finally starting to make a step in the right direction. But probably after plenty of per$ua$ion on Red Bulls part. At any rate, the Red Bull Drifting World Championship is going to be on SPEEDtv this Sunday, December 21 @ 4:00PM EST. Now lets hope that the West Coast doesn’t get it cut short for some NASCAR race or something else stupid…

No commentsLotus Evora & X-Dance
The Lotus 2+2 has finally been named the “evora.” The Evora is equipped with a 276 HP Toyota V6 making 252 lb-ft of torque and a six-speed gearbox, good for sub-5 second 0-60 runs. At the British Motor Sports press conference, in proper British style, the only remarks on speed were, “We won’t give you the speeds at the moment, because it wouldn’t be appropriate, not with so many police around.”

The 2009 X-Dance feature films have been announced as well! Short films will be picked in the next 2-3 days!
Also headed up to Mt. High this sunday for the first of many So Cal snow days!
No commentsMinis in Augmented Reality
MINIs the first car maker to have a fully interactive 3D ad! Using your web cam, computer and a printed piece of paper [or back of a specific car magazine] you too can have your very own mini in 3D to play with!
“Imagine this: You’re reading through a car magazine when you come to an ad for the new MINI Cabrio. The ad directs you to a URL, and once there, asks you to place your magazine in front of a webcam. Suddenly, and before your very own eyes, a 3D model of the new Mini appears on the page, and you are literally holding it in your hands. If you move it closer to the webcam, the Mini gets bigger, if you move it farther away, the Mini gets smaller, and you can twist, turn and rotate the model to look at it from any angle that you’d like. It’s like a miniature showroom in the palm of your hands, and you’re in control.” -TheFutureofAds

If by any chance I deleted one of your comments, responses, or links, fear not! I’ve been battling comment spam bots all week and every now and then a legit one slips through. Sorry about that. Nothing personal…

Honda announced it will be leaving the F1 racing series due to economic times despite it being the #2 auto maker…
No commentsWeekend Update
Motor4Toys was yet again another great show! Somewhere around 4000 cars showed up and everyone had quite a few toys to give. Not exactly sure on this years count, but we’ll see hopefully soon how much was raised. There were all of 4 bikes in attendance as well! The Ed Hardy Smart, Al & Ed’s Auto, Monster, Giovanna Wheels and quite a few other sponsors were in attendance! Sadly I didn’t take any pics, too busy wandering around and meeting everyone, but there will be plenty of them online soon enough on various sites. The dark bike made a good showing and next year i look forward to riding the Duc with the Police Escort to Toys R Us!
