Time For A Tundra
http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2008/11/toyota-has-part.html
The ultimate track day accessory! A 2008 Toyota Tundra built for one thing, getting your Ducati Desmo to the track and keeping it in perfect condition! This was a Toyota/Ducati joint project for the ultimate Tundra Transporter! “It’s designed to be the ultimate track-day transport,” said Warren Victor, project manager for Toyota’s Tundra and Tacoma SEMA trucks. “We wanted to build a truck that would be the best showcase for Ducati’s ‘Desmo’ $70K MotoGP bike.”
The tail gate swings out, an automatic ramp folds down and loads the bike in the back for you. The sides of the bed hide tool boxes, drawers and even solar panels on the top to power your 120 volt power tools! Plush interior also features leather seats with built-in ultrasonic massagers to work out the knots on the drive home!
I guess if you can afford a $70000 motorcycle, then whats another $50k on a truck to carry it around?

ProItalia & IGSA
Here are some pics from the ProItalia Fashion Show on Friday:
Also spent the weekend at Bonelli Park for the IGSA races! Can’t wait to hop on a luge and try my hand at the gravity bikes! Pics and videos of that should be coming soon. Stand-up downhill seems to be the wave of the future that will bring the bastard child that is street luge, back into the spotlight.
Secret spy shots of a Obama’s new limo are out too. NY Times reports “An analysis of unauthorized photographs taken while the car was being tested last summer on public roads suggests that the presidential ride will be a truck-based Cadillac. It will presumably replace the Cadillac that President Bush has used since 2005.”

SPEED TV update
That pretty much sums it up. SPEED TV canceled the AKA show before it even aired despite having a signed contract to air 6 episodes in HD. Figures. But not all too surprising I guess since I now get my motoGP, F1 and WRC races live & free and I don’t have to put up with Wrecked and more Pimping Car crap shows. Yay for commercial consumerism! SPEED has screwed over motoGP scheduling and airing numerous times so I don’t even bother trying to Tivo anything on SPEED too. At least we’ll have a kick ass DVD filled to the brim with entertainment. Chris and the AKA Rally own the footage so I’ll be talking with him more about shopping the show around and possibly putting together a web series or something like the Mischief DVD and get it out on store shelves. On second thought, an unrated DVD available to the general public could be bad. Oh well, it’ll hopefully work out for the best for everyone. All in all it was the best rally and I can’t wait for next year! The AKA forums are also back up so I’ll no longer be going through withdrawals as well.
This weekend is the Ducati Fashion Show/Preview! Spectrum Motorsports, Beverly Hills Ducati, ProItalia and a bunch of other stores everywhere are showcasing all the new gears and bikes! I’ll be headed over to BH or possibly ProItalia as that seems to be where the party at!
BRABUS also announced that you can now Pimp your Tesla! Options include a sound generator so you can whizz by other cars, some LED under car lights, interior packages, sound options and more! I like the LED driving lights for the R8 feel and the new rims help quite a bit.

SCARLET & EPIC CAMERAS
If you ever wanted to film a movie in 28K @ 25 fps, now you can for all of $55000 for the body. I’m more interested in the SCARLET 3K camera capable of 120 fps for all of $3500 for the sensor body. So for under $9000 you too can have a 3K pro camera! Theres no details on when it will be available or when they will start taking pre orders. Whenever it may be, I’ll be the first on the waiting list
Head over to the RED website for more details and pics! http://www.red.com/

Randomosity
Found this fun little site for everyone that likes making lists, text messaging and uses their cell phone way too much. It lets you interface with a Google calendar, address book, twitter, and a bunch of other tasks using voice recognition!

I’ll be at the International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA) North American Downhill Championship this weekend in San Dimas, CA! I’m finally starting on the street luge doc. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it together to first do a short in anaglyph 3D and the feature in 2D. Anaglyph is the fun red & blue paper glasses. IGSA is the best of street luge, downhill, gravity bikes and a bunch of other extreme gravity powered sports.

Ferrari with dash mounted iPhone
Ferrari is going to make 499 of its ultra-limited Scuderia Spider 16Ms with an iPod built into the dash! The 16GB touch will feature Ferrari themes, images and sounds, and of course, fortunate buyers can remove the PMP after having it parked in the garage. There’s no word yet on how pricey the iPod touch upgrade is or how expensive the whole car will be, but the standard version is already a hefty $277,000.

Missing SEMA :(
Guess it’s been a slow week as far as car & bike news goes because everyone is in Vegas this week for SEMA! So be ready for a flood of updates, pics & news next week as soon as everyone gets back and has recovered fully. The AKA forum is STILL down. Maybe they are getting ready for the 2009 rally? Guess it’s finally time to put the Dark Bike up on E-Bay. Or I could wait for the Toy-for-Tots run in Westlake. Orr sell off raffle tickets so anyone could get a chance at it. Hmmm. Choices. Oh i have to call Playboy Racing back about a potential sponsorship today ![]()
